The quick answer

Which laser does Aroma use at each Toronto location?

Bloor & Bathurst uses Clarity II by Lutronic. Mary performs the laser treatments there. Yonge & Davisville uses the Quanta System Duetto MT EVO. Stanka and Enza perform laser treatments at that clinic.

Both machines give us Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm options. The machine matters, but honest assessment, correct settings and careful technique matter just as much. That is why every new client starts with a consultation and mandatory test patch.

Clarity II: the laser Mary uses at Bloor

We chose the Clarity II for Bloor because it gives Mary two proven wavelengths in one platform and a lot of control over how each area is treated. It is fast enough for large body areas, precise enough for smaller areas, and flexible enough to plan treatment across a wide range of skin tones.

The Clarity II does not make every person an automatic candidate. Current skin tone, recent tanning, hair colour, hair thickness, medications, treatment area and previous reactions still need to be checked. The machine is a tool. The consultation tells us how, when and whether that tool should be used.

Dark, pigmented hair is generally the most predictable laser target. Brown and black hair are usually the strongest candidates. Red, blonde, very fine or lightly pigmented hair can be less predictable, while white and grey hair generally do not contain enough pigment for laser to target.

What the two Clarity II wavelengths do

Alexandrite 755 nm

Alexandrite has strong absorption in melanin, which is why it is often considered for lighter skin with dark, pigmented hair.

It is not chosen by a simple colour chart. Current skin tone, tanning and the treatment area are checked before each session.

Nd:YAG 1064 nm

Nd:YAG is often selected for deeper skin tones because the longer wavelength interacts less with surface melanin than Alexandrite.

That does not remove every risk. Suitable settings, a mandatory test patch and checking the skin before every session are still essential.

Mary's practical rule: We do not pick a wavelength from a label alone. We look at the skin in front of us that day, the hair we are actually trying to treat, and anything that may have changed since the last appointment.

How Clarity II cooling works

At Bloor, Clarity II uses integrated cryogen cooling. A brief cooling spray is delivered around the laser pulse to help protect the skin and make the heat more comfortable. It is quick, clean and built into the treatment process.

We call it cryogen cooling, not ICE cooling. Comfort still varies by the person and the area. Upper lip, bikini and other sensitive areas can feel sharper than larger or less sensitive body zones.

Two wavelengths

Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm give Mary options for different skin-and-hair combinations.

IntelliTrak coverage

IntelliTrak is designed to help deliver fast, uniform coverage on larger treatment areas.

Temperature feedback

Real-time temperature sensing gives the practitioner additional information while treatment is being delivered.

Yonge & Davisville

Quanta System Duetto MT EVO: the laser used at Yonge

At Yonge, Stanka and Enza use the Quanta System Duetto MT EVO. Like Clarity II, it includes Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm. The important difference is that it is a separate platform with Quanta Mixed Technology, which can deliver the wavelengths individually or in a combined plan when appropriate.

We like the Duetto MT EVO because it gives the Yonge team a high level of control over wavelength balance, pulse settings and treatment planning. At this location, cold-air cooling is used to support comfort during treatment.

What Quanta Mixed Technology means

Alexandrite alone

The 755 nm wavelength can be selected on its own when it fits the client's current skin tone, hair and treatment area.

Nd:YAG alone

The 1064 nm wavelength can be selected on its own when a longer wavelength is the more appropriate choice.

Combined wavelengths

Quanta Mixed Technology allows the proportion of Alexandrite and Nd:YAG to be adjusted in a combined emission for selected plans.

Two advanced laser systems at two Aroma locations

Aroma uses Clarity II at Bloor and the Quanta System Duetto MT EVO at Yonge. Both systems offer Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm treatment options. We present them as two strong technologies used by our trained laser practitioners, not as one machine being better than the other.

What happens before your first full treatment

1. Free consultation

We review current skin tone, recent tanning, Fitzpatrick type, hair colour and thickness, medications, treatment history, tattoos, moles and any previous laser reactions.

2. Mandatory test patch

Every new laser client receives a test patch before the first full treatment. The waiting time is decided case by case.

3. Recheck every session

Skin tone and recent tanning are checked again before every session because the safest settings can change over time.

Clarity II and Duetto MT EVO FAQ

Important: The machine is only one part of the plan. Results and suitability depend on hair colour, hair thickness, skin tone, hormones, treatment area, current skin condition, recent sun exposure and consistency. Consultation and a mandatory test patch are required for every new laser client.
