The honest answer about laser and PCOS hair

Laser can be very helpful when PCOS is producing dark, coarse hair, especially on the chin, jawline, upper lip, neck, chest, stomach line, or inner thighs. The laser targets pigment in hairs that are actively growing.

PCOS can continue to stimulate new hair, so the goal is long-term reduction and easier control, not a promise that hormones will never create another hair. Some clients need more sessions than a non-hormonal area and may need maintenance sooner.

Very fine, light, grey, white, blonde, or red hair may not be a good laser target. We would rather tell you honestly that a hair is not suitable than treat an area just because it is there.

Treat the right hairs, not every hair

With hormonal facial hair, more treatment is not always better. Dark, coarse hairs are usually the clearest laser targets. Fine fuzz, scattered light hairs, or hairs with very little pigment may not respond well and can require a different approach.

That is why Aroma does not skip the consultation or patch test. We look closely at the actual hairs, not only the name of the area you selected online.

We identify which hairs are likely to respond and which are too fine or too light. Facial zones may be planned separately instead of automatically treating the whole face.

Complete the initial series

Maintenance when enough hair returns

When Aroma's maintenance discount is active and applicable, maintenance treatments are 20% less than the regular single-session price. Eligibility is confirmed during consultation.

Laser, shaving, waxing, or electrolysis?

Laser

Best considered for suitable pigmented, coarse hair when the goal is long-term reduction across an area.

Shaving or trimming

Usually the correct temporary method during a laser series because it leaves the follicle in place.

Electrolysis

May be worth discussing for isolated hairs or hair without enough pigment for laser. Aroma does not provide electrolysis.

Waxing, sugaring, threading, tweezing, and epilating remove the root, so stop them at least 4 weeks before laser and do not use them between sessions.

Laser cannot diagnose or treat PCOS

Aroma provides cosmetic hair-reduction services. We do not diagnose PCOS, change medication, or treat the underlying hormonal condition.
