Yes. Hormonal areas, including facial hair and hair affected by PCOS, may need maintenance as early as every 6 to 12 months, depending on regrowth.

Q: How much does laser maintenance cost at Aroma?

When Aroma's maintenance discount is active and your treatment qualifies, maintenance sessions are 20% less than the regular single-session price. Current pricing is confirmed during consultation.

Q: Does needing a touch-up mean my laser series failed?

No. Laser is long-term hair reduction, and some regrowth over time can be normal. A consultation helps determine whether you need one touch-up, a different plan or more time.

Q: Do I need another test patch for maintenance?

Every new laser client requires a consultation and test patch before the first full treatment. Returning clients are reassessed, and another test patch may be recommended if skin tone, tanning, medications, reactions or the treatment plan have changed.

Q: Can I wax, sugar, tweeze or thread before a touch-up?

No. Avoid waxing, sugaring, tweezing and threading for at least four weeks before laser because the hair root needs to remain available for treatment. Shaving is allowed.

Q: What happens if I travel and miss my usual laser timing?

A travel gap does not automatically ruin your progress. Resume when you return and the area is not sunburned or recently tanned. Your practitioner will check your current skin and regrowth before treating.

Q: Which Aroma location offers laser maintenance?

Maintenance consultations are available at Bloor and Yonge. Bloor uses Clarity II with Mary, while Yonge uses the Quanta System Duetto MT EVO with Stanka or Enza. Aroma does not present one system as better than the other.

Q: Is laser maintenance permanent hair removal?

Laser is described as long-term hair reduction, not guaranteed permanent removal. Maintenance needs vary from person to person.

Maintenance is normal, but timing matters

Laser gives long-term hair reduction, not a promise that every hair will disappear forever. A few hairs showing up again does not mean you need to rush back. There needs to be enough treatable regrowth for a maintenance appointment to make sense.

Most clients do not need their first touch-up for about two to four years after finishing their series. Facial hair, PCOS and other hormonal areas can behave differently and may need maintenance as early as every 6 to 12 months.

The easiest rule to remember is this: when roughly 20% to 30% of the treatable hair has returned, book a consultation and let us look at it. We would rather tell you to wait than treat too early.

Book when 20% to 30% has returned

A handful of isolated hairs is usually not enough for a useful touch-up. Wait until approximately 20% to 30% of the treatable hair has returned, then book a consultation. We will check the pattern, hair colour, thickness, current skin tone and whether the area is ready to treat.

This does not mean waiting until everything grows back. It means waiting until there is enough real regrowth to assess properly.

What can make hair return sooner?

Hormones and PCOS

Hormonal facial growth can be persistent. Laser may reduce the hair, but it cannot switch off the hormone signal creating new growth.

Treatment area

The face often needs closer monitoring than many body areas. Different areas also grow on different cycles.

Hair colour and thickness

Darker, thicker regrowth is generally easier to target than very fine or lightly pigmented hair.

Life and medication changes

Pregnancy, postpartum changes, menopause and some medications can change how and where hair grows. Tell us what has changed.

When Aroma’s current maintenance discount is active and your treatment qualifies, maintenance sessions are 20% less than the regular single-session price for that area.

We look at the regrowth

We check whether there is enough treatable hair, whether it is scattered or concentrated, and whether it still has enough pigment for laser.

We reassess your skin today

Current skin tone, recent tanning, irritation, medications and any previous reaction are checked before every session.

We tell you honestly whether to treat

Sometimes the right answer is one touch-up. Sometimes it is to wait longer. Hormonal areas may need a different plan.

Travel, vacations and longer gaps

Going away for a few weeks or months does not automatically erase your progress. Do not squeeze in a session simply because you are leaving tomorrow.

When you return, book once your skin is no longer sunburned or recently tanned. We will check your skin and regrowth and continue from there.

Prepare for a maintenance visit the same way as laser

Before the visit

• Shave about 24 hours before, unless your practitioner says otherwise.
• Do not wax, sugar, tweeze or thread for at least four weeks.
• Avoid sun and tanning for two weeks.
• Arrive with clean skin and no deodorant, oils or makeup on the area.
