What is underarm sugaring?
Underarm sugaring lasts much longer than shaving, especially for anyone with heavy growth who'd otherwise shave daily. Most clients come in every four to five weeks and stay smooth between visits.
The underarms are small, but they can be sensitive because of deodorant, sweat, shaving history, and friction. Arrive clean and dry, and tell your technician if the skin feels irritated before your service starts.

Let the hair grow
Hair needs enough length for the sugar paste to grip. Avoid shaving right before your appointment.
Arrive clean and dry
Skip heavy deodorant, oils, lotion, or fragrance on the underarm area before sugaring.
Keep aftercare gentle
Underarm skin can feel sensitive after sugaring, especially if the area is used to shaving.
Avoid heat and friction
Skip heavy workouts, hot showers, saunas, and tight clothing that creates underarm friction right after.
Underarm sugaring aftercare note
Avoid deodorant for at least 12 hours if the skin feels sensitive. A fragrance-free, alcohol-free deodorant after that is usually the gentler choice.
