What is face sugaring?
Face sugaring includes the upper lip, chin, sideburns, and perhaps other areas such as the upper cheek or forehead if needed. It is best suited for anyone who grows hair on the face. Aroma lists regular prices for these areas, with a Thursday and Friday sugaring discount when the promotion applies.
Facial skin can be more sensitive than body skin, especially if you use retinol, acids, acne medication, peels, prescription skincare, or recently had a facial or laser treatment. Please tell your technician before the service starts so we can protect the skin and choose the safest approach.
Choose sugaring if you want a more natural option, it's just sugar, water, and lemon, or if you have sensitive skin, or if you're pregnant. With waxing we remove a fine layer of skin and get every hair type in one pass; sugaring is gentler but may need to go over an area more than once.

Prefer threading for brows or facial hair?
Threading is available only at our Yonge & Davisville / Midtown location for eyebrows, upper lip, chin, sideburns, neck, and full face. Sugaring is available at Bloor, Yonge & Davisville / Midtown, and Streetsville where listed. Threading is not sugaring, but it can be a helpful facial hair removal option for clients who prefer precise thread-based cleanup.
Skin caution
Before face sugaring, tell us about your skincare
Tell us if you use retinol, acids, strong acne products, or anything that makes your skin thinner or more reactive. Choose sugaring if you want a more natural option, have sensitive skin, or are pregnant.
Retinol, acids, and acne medication
Tell your technician if you use retinol, AHA/BHA acids, benzoyl peroxide, acne medication, prescription skincare, or strong exfoliating products. These can make facial skin more fragile.
Recent peels, facials, laser, or sunburn
Let us know about recent chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, laser treatments, sun exposure, or sunburn. Freshly treated or irritated skin may need more time before hair removal.
Sensitive or reactive skin
If your skin gets red, lifts, bruises, stings, or reacts easily after waxing or sugaring, mention it before the service starts. Better to say it now than play facial roulette later.

Arrive with clean skin
Skip heavy makeup, thick skincare, oils, and heavy products on the area before your appointment.
Face sugaring aftercare
After face sugaring, avoid retinol, acids, peels, harsh exfoliation, fragrance, and heavy products on the treated area until the skin feels calm.
Protect the area
Freshly treated facial skin may be more sensitive. Avoid sun exposure, heat, and aggressive rubbing right after service.
